Congratulations to Maria Tischer on the successful completion of her Bachelor’s Thesis titled “EMGSuite – Framework Foundation for EMG driven bionic limb prosthesis”!

Maria’s thesis focused on optimizing motor activations for an anthropomorphic bionic finger, aiming to replicate the movement of a human index finger using myoelectric signals. Through the use of a forward dynamics simulation and the Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolutionary Strategy, Maria developed a framework that generated a dataset combining electromyography (EMG) signals, motion capture data, and real-life controls for the bionic finger.

This dataset opens up new possibilities for training a neural network to derive finger controls solely from EMG signals, enabling seamless control of bionic fingers for individuals in need. Maria’s research represents a significant advancement in the field of bionic limb prosthetics.

Congratulations again, Maria, on this remarkable achievement! Best of luck as you embark on your future academic pursuits!
