On the 6th of July, we had the honor to meet Prof. Dr. Roberto Merletti. Until 2015, Prof. Merletti was a Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Dept. of Electronics at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy), and director of the Lab. for Engineering of the Neuromuscular System (LISiN). He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of ISEK (International Society for Electrophysiology and Kinesiology), and a member of the Editorial Board of three international journals.

Now, he is determined to diffuse knowledge about surface electromyography (sEMG) worldwide and to contribute to making EMG a reality in clinical practice.

We had the opportunity to present the current status of our research and to have a nice discussion with him.
We also participated in his two-part guest lecture about sEMG at the EmpkinSLab. The first part of his lecture was about “EMG Generals, physiological aspects”, and the second was about “Aspects for engineers like the design of electrodes, signal conditioning”.

We were very lucky to have Prof. Roberto Merletti with us for a few days. We discussed so much about many interesting topics and future dreams that must become reality. What a maestro!
