Congratulations to Patricia Bayer on completing her Master’s Thesis on the topic of the “Motor Unit Behavior in Spinal Cord Injury – Analysis of spared neural activity and training effects on hand muscles”!

In her master’s thesis, Patricia analyzed high-density surface EMG data from spinal cord injured (SCI) patients and a control group regarding their temporal and spatial information. Significant differences in the discharge rate and the size of area with high activity regions were observed, among other differences. Subsequently, the adaption of motor units after a training in patients with SCI was analyzed in a longitudinal study. During the study, identical motor units were identified, and their behavior was analyzed across the training days.

Once again, we congratulate her warmly on her exceptional work, and we wholeheartedly wish her the very best in her upcoming academic journey as a Ph.D. student in Australia.
